Quickstart

Setup

  1. Create a Tailscale account.
  2. Download, install, and setup the Tailscale app on the devices you want to watch on.
  3. Use your Tailscale invite link to add our server to your device list.

Media server

  1. Go to the media server web page and login with your username/password.

Minecraft

  1. Join the server apteryx.tail15aab.ts.net:25565.

Onboarding

Welcome to our media server! If you're on this page, you should have received three pieces of personalized information from us- a username, a password, and an invite link. If you haven't received those, if what you've received doesn't work, or if you have any other issues with setup, feel free to contact olivia.tar.zst on Discord for help.

Tailscale

Tailscale is a networking tool that allows you to securely connect to our server from anywhere in the world. Tailscale supports most devices you'd want to watch on- phones, computers, smart TVs, etc.

  1. Create a Tailscale account.
  2. Download, install, and setup the Tailscale app on the devices you want to watch on.
  3. Use your Tailscale invite link to add our server to your device list.

Jellyfin

Jellyfin is the software we run to serve media to you.

How to Watch

As a prerequisite, Tailscale needs to be set up on the device you're watching on. See above.

If you want to watch in a browser, you can login to the web client with your username/password.

If you want to watch anywhere else, you'll need to download a client app. Jellyfin has a list of official clients- if you want a phone app, desktop app, or TV app, you'll find it there. Your client app will ask for a server to connect to. Enter https://apteryx.tail15aab.ts.net/jellyfin/ when asked. After that, you should be able to login with your username/password.

Media Requests

If we're missing a particular movie or TV show that you want to watch, we might be able to find a copy! In a browser on a Tailscale-connected device, go to our request page and log in with your Jellyfin username/password. From there, you should be able to search for media to request.
